Dazo

Born in the periphery of the periphery of Barcelona in 1987, I have a predilection for drawing and painting since I can remember.

Changing the color of our world since 2003 through graffiti and after a period working in the graphic arts industry in my hometown, Igualada, I temporarily decided on a change of scenery in 2006, moving to the Canary Island of Tenerife, where I lived for half a year, prolonging my apprenticeship in the world of graphic arts and meeting people, living experiences and receiving extremely important stimuli and influences to this day. Returning to Igualada in 2007, I continued with the same activity, initiating in 2008 a professional development involving painting and making numerous murals, canvases, customized apparel and other objects.

With no previous artistic studies, in 2012 I decided on a full stop in my profession and moved to Barcelona to attend a mural arts academic program, convinced to paint my life by hand, day after day.

I imagine the painting process as an essential part for the result and I nourish myself by the parallelism that I permanently feel between the artistic and vital development, which keeps me always awake, always dreaming…
Every single step counts and keeps in itself the previous totality to the next step. The first step illuminates the next one.
Through my art I can talk about everything and nothing at the same time, because in the end the art talks exclusively about itself… my work talks, or maybe not, it keeps speechless to itself and to me. I look at it and then I remember when, how, and with some luck, why…
Every single work, every step, had made this path, this, my actual me. I was myself when I create it and now I’m the result of what in that moment was result and process, I’m process, my process, essential part for the result that I will be again.

…life is painted by hand…
